FAQ

  • How long does a full vehicle wrap take?

    A full wrap typically takes 1–2 days, depending on the size, make and model of the vehicle. This allows time for thorough surface preparation, precise application, and post-install curing. Smaller vehicles or partial wraps may be completed in <1 day, while larger SUVs or detailed designs may take a bit longer.

  • How do i maintain my wrap or tint?

    To get the most out of your wrap or tints lifespan you should follow these 5 steps carefully.

    1. Wait at least 48-72 hours before washing the car

    2. Hand wash every 2–3 weeks

    3. Avoid harsh chemicals or waxes (not designed for vinyl)

    4. Use ceramic or wrap-safe sealants (for protection)

    5. Park undercover or in shaded areas (when possible)

    We also offer maintenance detailing packages to help preserve your vehicle’s finish long-term.

  • What do your detailing packages include?

    Our detailing services are designed to restore and protect your vehicle inside and out. Depending on the package detailing may include:

    * Exterior wash and decontamination

    * Clay bar treatment and polish

    * Interior vacuuming and deep cleaning

    * Leather and trim conditioning

    * Paint protection or ceramic coating

    We’ll recommend a package based on your vehicle’s condition and your goals, whether it’s a light refresh or a full restoration.

  • What are the legal limits for tints?

    Window tint darkness is measured by VLT (Visible Light Transmission) which is the percentage of light that passes through the film.

    Your front windows must meet the legal standards in your state (35% VLT in Victoria).

    Rear windows can be darker depending on your preference.

    We use high-quality, UV-blocking films that comply with all Australian regulations while improving privacy, comfort, and heat rejection.

  • How does your detailing service work?

    Every detailing job starts with a quick chat to understand your car’s condition and what level of detail you’re after. We’ll confirm the service, location, and price before booking. For mobile detailing, we charge a small call-out fee depending on distance. Just call ahead and we’ll give you a clear, upfront quote.

  • Can you wrap over dents, scratches, or rust?

    We recommend repairing dents and rust before wrapping to ensure a flawless finish. Vinyl doesn’t hide imperfections, and in all honesty it tends to highlight them, especially under certain lighting. Wrapping over damaged areas can also reduce the film’s adhesion and lifespan.

    Light surface scratches are usually fine, but deeper marks, rust, or uneven panels should be fixed first for the best result. At Melbourne Premium Wraps, we use premium vinyls from Avery Dennison®, which are designed to deliver perfect coverage and long-term durability. But even the highest-quality films perform the best on smooth, well-prepped surfaces.
